A certain un-named lazy bastard has been neglecting his duties at Surrey in A Hurry sunning himself on the beaches of Hawaii. In that time, it seems a stockpile of news has been building up. And while all the details aren’t in, the highlight reel must include Surrey In A Hurry’s own Zak Clarke’s recent string of luck.
In back to back weekends, Zak and the Beretta have gathered up an impressive three consecutive wins and a runner up.

A genuine heartfelt thanks goes out to Martin and Cindy Dykstra for saving my bacon at the Eagle Motorplex.
For those that don’t know, I have a tendancy to forget to pack something at just about every chance I get. Sometimes it’s little stuff like a toothbrush; othertimes it’s my entire duffle bag of clothes.
This time, at the Lordco Auto Parts NHRA National Open Double Header, I packed everything I needed… except my sleeping bag. And while it was the end of May / begining of June, it still gets damn cold there at night.

Congrats go out to Surrey in A Hurry’s Zak Clarke! The guy just ran two classes at the much delayed 2007 National Dragster Challenge race at Mission Raceway Park and won them both!
Details are still coming in, but we know this: Zak took the win in Super Pro for the ‘Digger Challenge, and he won Door Dinger a Canada West Doorslammer race held over from last year. I hate to jinx it by saying this, but that makes his 17th consecutive undefeated round in Door Slammer!
Man… if that’s not enough to get me off my ass and finally post something, I don’t what is. Great job Zak!

Oh yeah… Team Surrey In A Hurry will be in Las Vegas, NV, this week at the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals ! Unlike last year though, we’re not just makingt the trip to spectate… this time we’re actually racing! Zak’s gonna take a crack at SuperGas — National Event style!
A couple of unnamed speed demons well qualified drivers have already transported Zak’s Berlinetta Beretta to Vegas in world record time a safe and sane manor. Zak and Tony will fly in like rock stars and meet up on Wednesday night.

It’s 5:52PM, the booze here sucks and we have over two hours to kill until the plane leaves. But let me tell you about the Snake Nuts! More details as we get bored…
We’re at ‘The Strip’ and Zak’s made a couple of time hits. The Beretta is running good for zero data. The sun is out in full force and this place runs cars through in a hurry! Over 500 cars in just 4 hours! The track must be way shorter here or something… Stay tuned!
